Beyoncé, Blue Ivy, Kendrick Lamar Win NAACP Image Awards


Beyoncé, Blue Ivy Carter, and Kendrick Lamar were among the winners at the annual NAACP Image Awards.

Other winners during the two-night awards ceremony included Kendrick Lamar, Doechii, Chris Brown, Samara Joy, Malcolm Washington, and Tamela Mann. In the film, Mufasa’s tale is told via flashback, with the mandrill Rafiki sharing the story with Simba and Nala’s daughter, Kiara. In a behind-the-scenes clip released last year, the actress spoke about working on the film, saying, “This is just a great experience for me and I’m really happy for girls that look like me, all around the world, to watch this movie and hear and see themselves in it.”
