Betty Ann Rees dead at 81: The 1970s starlet best known for her role in The Unholy Rollers has passed away after a 'series of falls and a possible stroke'


Betty Anne Rees, a B-movie starlet and journeyman actress from the 1970s has passed away.  She was 81.

The Roger Corman produced movie was co-written and directed by the late Vernon Zimmerman and edited by upcoming filmmaker Martin Scorsese. The mobster and Rees' Celeste get their just desserts when after the title character Diana 'Sugar' Hill, played by Marki Bey, uses voodoo to raise her enslaved ancestors from the dead to avenge her boyfriend's murder. In 1974's Sugar Hill, Rees starred as the girlfriend of a racist gangster, who gets what's coming to her after the title character uses voodoo to call forth her enslaved ancestors to avenge the murder of her boyfriend
