Bette Midler Reveals Secret to Her 40-Year Marriage: 'Separate Bedrooms — My Husband Snores'

Better Midler told 'Entertainment Tonight' that the secret to her nearly 40 years of marriage to Martin von Haselberg is "separate bedrooms," explaining simply: "My husband snores." The 'Fabulous Four' star and her artist husband have been married since December 1984.

Midler and her husband initially met in 1981 when they went to a concert in Los Angeles with mutual friends, as she told Vanity Fair in a 1991 interview. Midler portrays a bride in her new movie The Fabulous Four, in which she costars with Susan Sarandon, Megan Mullally and Sheryl Lee Ralph. The movie follows the four women as lifelong friends who travel to Florida for Midler's character's wedding, with an official synopsis teasing, "there are enough sparks, drinks and romance to change all their lives in ways they never expected."
