Bernice King Says Her Mother ‘Wasn’t a Prop’ After Jonathan Majors Invokes Civil Rights Icon

Bernice King has paid tribute to Coretta Scott King after Jonathan Majors invoked her name in an interview.

During his highly-publicized domestic violence trial, audio was played of the former Marvel actor telling his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari to act more like Scott King or former First Lady Michelle Obama. The conviction stems from an incident in March 2023 when Jabbari, who Majors met on the set of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in summer 2021, suffered her injuries from a fight that broke out between the couple. Majors was accused of attacking the professional dancer, who sustained a fractured finger and a gash behind her ear during the fight.
