Berlin Winner Nicolas Philibert, Sundance Winner Lauren Greenfield to Be Honored at Thessaloniki Documentary Festival

Nicolas Philibert will be awarded the honorary Golden Alexander for his contribution to cinema at the 27th Thessaloniki Intl. Documentary Festival.

The festival will screen a trilogy of Philibert’s films on alternative psychiatric approaches, along with an illuminating portrait of people working as nurse practitioners: “Each and Every Moment” (2018), “On the Adamant” (2023), “At Averroès & Rosa Parks” (2024) and “The Typewriter and Other Headaches”(2024). Greenfield, who is also welcomed as a member of the International Competition jury, “castigates the toxic side of hyperconsumerism, leaving a biting commentary on the decay of the nouveau-riche class that wastes itself in ephemeral delights,” the festival said. In 2012, she won the directing award, documentary, at Sundance for “The Queen of Versailles.” Other films include “Kids + Money” (2008), “Fashion Show” (2010), “Beauty CULTure” (2011), and “Generation Wealth” (2018).
