Benedict Cumberbatch Confirms MCU Return As Doctor Strange In ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

The Doctor is in! Benedict Cumberbatch reveals he’ll officially be making his return to the MCU as the spectacular Doctor Strange in Avengers: Doomsday.

The MCU star revealed his excitement to reunite with the Russo Brothers on a new project, as well as see Robert Downey Jr. take on the role of Doctor Doom. Continuing his media circuit at the Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Film Festival, the MCU star revealed that he thinks Doctor Strange has plenty of gas left in the tank for interesting stories, specifically citing the ever changing universe that may be massively impacted by the events of Avengers: Doomsday. While there’s no telling what the future holds for his role as the Sorcerer Supreme, it’s likely his return in the blockbuster will give some indication of the studio’s intentions for his hero going forward.
