Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman play a married couple on the verge of entering the violent arena of divorce in the new trailer for 'The Roses.'
Things escalate throughout the trailer, with ruined dinners and heated divorce hearings ultimately leading to Colman pointing a gun at Cumberbatch in the lavish home the couple are forced to share. “Life seems easy for picture-perfect couple Ivy (Olivia Colman) and Theo (Benedict Cumberbatch): successful careers, a loving marriage, great kids,” Searchlight Pictures said in its synopsis. “But beneath the façade of their supposed ideal life, a storm is brewing – as Theo’s career nosedives while Ivy’s own ambitions take off, a tinderbox of fierce competition and hidden resentment ignites.”
