Ben Lanzarone, ‘Happy Days’ and ‘The Love Boat’ Composer, Dies at 85
Ben Lanzarone, the composer for television series such as 'Happy Days' and 'The Love Boat,' died of lung cancer in Los Angeles on Feb. 16. He was 85.
Composer Ben Lanzarone, whose work was featured in television shows such as “Happy Days,” “The Love Boat” and “Dynasty,” died of lung cancer in Los Angeles on Feb. 16. He became the arranger for a range of artists and projects, such as Peter Nero, Vicki Sue Robinson and the disco group The Brothers, as well as the soundtrack of the motion picture “Grease.” As a musical director and pianist, Lanzarone toured with artists such as Frank Sinatra, Art Garfunkel, Mary Travers, Anthony Newley, Petula Clark, Lainie Kazan and Mason Williams.
