Jennifer Lopez didn't give up on her marriage to Ben Affleck easily. She spent months trying to salvage her relationship but in the end she couldn't get past the 'darkness' in him.
The divorce petition revealed their date of separation as April, but even after Ben moved out of their $68 million Beverly Hills mansion, Lopez didn't give up on him. 'She opened herself up to criticism, ridicule and countless naysayers who told her this was a bad idea, that it was doomed, that there was a reason it didn’t work the first time,' the source said. They both went on to wed other people - she exchanged vows with Mac Anthony in 2004, while he walked down the aisle with Jennifer Garner in 2005 – but after splitting from their respective partners, they eventually got back together.
