Beloved Aussie children's entertainer Marty Morton dies at age 82 following long battle with cancer
Beloved Australian children's entertainer and actor Marty Morton has died at age 82 following a long battle with cancer.
Morton was born in England in 1941 and moved to Australia at a young age, where he began his career as a stage performer and ventriloquist. His 50-year career in showbiz saw him entertain both children and adults alike, and he also appeared alongside many renowned performers, including Hugo Weaving and Georgie Parker. Morton's contributions to showbusiness saw him win an Australian Entertainment Mo Award three times for Versatile Variety Act of the Year, in 1982, 1983 and 1986.
