"The Last of Us" star Bella Ramsey competes for lead actress despite being non-binary, and they are comfortable with the placement.

Bella Ramsey appeared on the latest episode of “The Louis Theroux Podcast” and defended having gendered categories at awards shows. Ramsey, who identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, was nominated for lead actress in a drama series at the Emmys for the first season of HBO’s “ The Last of Us.” Ramsey currently appears on the second season of “The Last of Us,” for which they will once again be in contention for an Emmy nomination in the lead actress category.
