Bee Antagonizes Emma Stone on Red Carpet
He wanted vengeance for bee ally Lily Gladstone.
Though she ultimately left the scene alive and seemingly unharmed, Stone had to bob and weave to counter the bee’s persistent ambush. Experts have theorized that the attack may have been due to residual anger over the 2024 Oscar race, in which Stone ultimately won Best Actress for Poor Things over Gladstone in Killers of the Flower Moon. Killers of the Flower Moon premiered at Cannes in 2023, so it is possible that Gladstone made contact with the bee, or someone in his hive, at that year’s festival.
