Vicky teared up when she learned of Harry's dreadful voyage to Singapore by sea in 1942, lasting 70 days, before his involvement in what is remembered as one of the starkest losses for the Allies during WWII, reports the Express. Eight months before his capture, Harry's ordeal was exacerbated on a nightmare journey to Taiwan aboard a "hell ship" crammed with men languishing from both hunger and sickness.
