BBC Strictly star’s life to be turned into Hollywood film as memoir rights bought

Strictly Come Dancing star Johannes Redebe will swap the ballroom for the big screen as his amazing life story is set to be adapted into a major Hollywood movie

While we’re used to seeing the Strictly professional, 37, on TV every week on the BBC show, now we’ll see the South African-born star’s very own story take centre stage on the big screen, too. Richard John, boss at Argo Films, said: “Johannes’ story is so full of joy and life that I found the project completely irresistible and therefore couldn’t be more thrilled to work with Anthony and Helena on bringing this uplifting memoir to the screen.” Anthony Kimble, the man behind Arrested Industries, also said: “Richard brings a huge amount of development and production experience to Finally Home, as well as natural warmth, sensitivity and humour – all traits that align with Johannes and that are important to shine through in this film.”
