Craig enjoyed an impressive 25-year stint with the BBC Spotlight team in Plymouth, being the first and longest-serving regional weather forecaster after joining in 1978 In a notable highlight of his career, Craig famously solved the mystery surrounding sailor Donald Crowhurst, who vanished from his trimaran in the mid-Atlantic during The Golden Globe Race. Devon's own Donald Crowhurst appeared to be on the cusp of victory, having smashed speed records and made headlines globally, but ominously, all communication ceased during the final month of his journey.
