BBC star thought she was 'going to die' after appendix burst days after giving birth
Former BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin has spoken out about the traumatic birth of her first child Mia, who is now 22, after it emerged Louise's appendix had burst just days later
Louise explained that just six days after giving birth to Mia, her first child who is now 22, she ended up with a burst appendix - an event so severe, she believed she was facing death. Louise, who is aged 56 and also known for her athletic prowess as a triathlete, revealed how her alarming pain was initially brushed off by medical professionals: "A week after she was born I had a burst appendix so that was really, really serious. Louise was a familiar face on BBC Breakfast until 2021 (Image: Julian Hamilton/Daily Mirror)She continued, "Literally six days after she was born it burst, while I was in hospital, and it was very dramatic and very traumatic and that's the only thing I've ever had help with actually, because I just thought I was going to die."
