BBC star set to return to work just weeks after sharing cancer diagnosis

A BBC star who hosts BBC Radio 6 Music, Desert Island Discs on Radio 4 and The One Show is set to return to our screens and airwaves following her cancer diagnosis three months ago

Her last episode of Desert Island Discs was with Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, released on 11 August, and since then, extended editions of the programme have been broadcast. While a new episode of Desert Island Discs featuring comedian Mark Steel will be released on 1 December, it was recorded prior to Lauren's leave. She will be back in the studio over the coming weeks to record more episodes of the popular Radio 4 series, including special Christmas editions, with details to be announced soon.
