BBC star quits after 7yrs telling devastated fans 'it's time for a new adventure'

A BBC star has announced she'll be stepping down from her morning show after seven years, as she tells fans 'it's time for a new adventure' in an emotional social media post

"I'm leaving the wonderful 5 Live Breakfast show in a couple of weeks after a brilliant few years of mayhem with Rachel Burden, Rick Edwards, and the amazing producers and editors,” the star penned on the social media site. However, she won’t be leaving the station for good, as she informed fans: “I’m so proud I’ll still be doing lots of that for 5 Live Sport, and the BBC, who still bring us together for the big moments better than anyone else.” In August, Katie posted a highlight reel of her coverage of the Olympics with the 5Live Sports team earlier this year, as she was praised for her work by fans.
