BBC Race Across the World couple's 'unconventional' relationship after partner's shock death

BBC's Race Across the World is back for a new series with five pairs of contestants racing from China to India - but one couple's journey is more unconventional than most.

The show is making a comeback on BBC One, as five new pairs set off on an epic 14,000-kilometre journey from Huanghuacheng, a village just north of Beijing, to Kanniyakumari at India's southernmost point. Joining Brian, Melvyn, Yin and Gaz are mother-son duo Caroline, 60, and Tom, 21; sisters Elizabeth, 33, and Letitia, 26; and teenage sweethearts Fin, 18, and Sioned, 19. Brothers Brian and Melvyn both took RATW as an opportunity for some sightseeing while waiting for their next commute (Image: BBC/Studio Lambert)Long-time fan of the show, Sioned, was equally taken aback to be chosen.
