BBC promises an 'innovative' return for Casualty this Christmas as they confirm that the hit medical drama will be back on screen over festive period


The long-running medical drama will be back on screens at Christmas following the last episode of the latest series last Saturday.

A flatline could be heard on a heart monitor machine and a hospital bed was submerged in snow, whilst bloodied footprints could be seen as well. The classic Pogues track Fairytale of New York plays in the background while a hand retrieves a blood bag adorned with a Christmas bow from a fridge The latest series of Casualty also featured the departure of legendary character Charlie Fairhead, with actor Derek Thompson bowing out after nearly four decades
