BBC presenter QUITS show after seven years - admitting early morning starts are 'brutal'


The broadcaster has been fronting the show alongside Rachel Burden and Rick Edwards but said she feels ready for a new role.

BBC presenter Katie Smith has revealed she has quit her job at the 5 Live Breakfast Show, citing the 'brutal' mornings. Taking to X/ Twitter, she wrote: 'I'm leaving the wonderful 5 Live Breakfast show in a couple of weeks after a brilliant few years of mayhem with Rachel Burden, Rick Edwards, and the amazing producers and editors. Katie's colleague Rachel Burden wrote in resonse: 'Absolutely gutted you’re going, you’ve been a total joy, always bringing the vibes and the knowledge.
