BBC News star flooded with support from viewers as she returns after a year off-air

After one year away from our screens, BBC Newsreader Karin Giannone delighted fans on social media as she teased her return to the airwaves with a brand new photo

In the image, Karin smiled for the camera while posing on crutches in a chic blue blazer and white camisole, which she accessorised with a simple necklace, gold watch and complimentary stud earrings. Earlier this month, Karin told her fans how she had been suffering from the symptoms of Arthritis and had undergone a major operation, an osteotomy, to cut through her leg bone and realign her foot in order to reduce the pain. Speaking at the time, Karin posted a photograph from her hospital bed as she wrote: "I’m out of action for a couple of months after a knee osteotomy surgery, but very much looking forward to being back on air on @BBCNews when I am up and running again!”
