BBC MasterChef star Gregg Wallace was diagnosed with a painful condition that affects his stomach and causes him to double up in pain

Despite having to sample meals all day for his BBC duties, eating the wrong thing can pose a risk to his diverticula, pouches in the walls of his intestines. (Image: BBC/Shine TV)He's not alone in his struggle; rock legend Eddie Van Halen needed emergency surgery for the same condition, and Pope Francis and wrestler Brock Lesnar have also battled it. The NHS explains that "diverticular disease and diverticulitis are conditions that affect the large intestine (bowel), causing tummy (abdominal) pain and other symptoms.
