BBC Gladiators viewers all say the same thing as show crowns first winners

Gladiators has been a huge hit for the BBC and the final episode of the first series saw two contestants crowned champions after a tense showdown in the Eliminator

Despite all four competitors putting up a good fight, in the end Army officer Finlay beat wrestler Wesley Male in the quest for victory while personal trainer Marie Louise triumphed over firefighter Bronte Jones. In the nail-biting final, Marie-Louise got a tiny two-second lead before starting The Eliminator against Bronte, something which may well have tipped the scale in her favour to secure the ultimate victory at the end of the night. Discussing his victory, a gobsmacked Finlay couldn't believe it and said: "This is definitely the most surreal moment ever from five-year-old me playing The Eliminator in my granny's living room to lifting the real deal, this is unbelievable".
