BBC Exterminates Disgraced Presenter Huw Edwards From ‘Doctor Who’ & Restores Episode To iPlayer
An episode of 'Doctor Who' that originally featured Huw Edwards has been restored to BBC iPlayer with the disgraced presenter edited out.
The UK broadcaster took down Season 2 episode Fear Her last August after Edwards, once the highest-profile news anchor in the country, pleaded guilty to accessing child abuse images. Edwards starred when Chloe Webber, a girl who is terrorized by a demonic version of her abusive dead father, makes everyone disappear in a sports stadium for the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics. When the Doctor (David Tennant) and assistant Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) ride to the rescue, Wright’s commentator says: “Just look at this, utterly incredible scenes at the Olympic Stadium.
