BBC EastEnders' serial killer Gray actor completely unrecognisable in new TV role

Actor Toby-Alexander Smith, who is best known for playing killer Gray Atkins in EastEnders, looks unrecognisable in his new role as Mr Bingley in Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice

EastEnders star Toby-Alexander Smith looks unrecognisable in photos taken during his latest acting project, following his exit from the BBC One soap nearly two years ago. Toby, 32, portrayed serial killer Gray Atkins in EastEnders from 2019 until 2022, and was at the centre of some hard-hitting storylines during his soap stint, which concluded with his character being sent to prison for his crimes. Toby was introduced on EastEnders in 2019 alongside co-star Jessica Plummer, who played his on-screen wife Chantelle Atkins - the daughter of Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) and Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths).
