The EastEnders star has confirmed she has left the much loved soap after reprising her role in the show for a lengthy stint to coincide with its 40th anniversary

The explosive live episode for the show's 40th anniversary saw actor James Bye bid adieu to his role as Martin Fowler, who met his fate due to a devastating blast at the Queen Vic pub, reports the Mirror. The harrowing scene unfolded with patrons trapped inside the flaming Queen Vic where Martin saved Ruby, yet heroically dashed back into danger to rescue Stacey, leaving viewers gripped by the edge-of-their-seat drama. In a dramatic turn of events, Martin was hit by a metal beam as they tried to escape, crushing his legs and leaving him gasping for breath while paramedics and firefighters attempted to rescue him.
