BBC confirms award-winning show is returning to screens in just weeks - despite host struggling to balance string of new series

Fans don't have long to wait for the new slew of episodes, as the first instalment of the new series will be getting underway on Wednesday August 14 at 8pm on BBC One, reports The Sun.

Jay Blades: A Country House Through Time is the latest in a string of new factual programmes the presenter is hosting, and will see him explore a series of stately homes. In the four-part series, Jay will retrace the steps of the Bridgeman family and their servants, starting from the Georgian era, through the Victorian and Edwardian times, and up to the 20th Century. The first episode sees Jay head to Trafalgar Square in a traditional black cab before travelling to St Martins-in-the Field Church, where he learns about an exciting historical discovery.
