BBC Breakfast star forced to step in as host replaced after heartbreaking health update


BBC Breakfast viewers were left very confused on Saturday morning as one of the show's regular hosts, Charlie Stayt, was unexpectedly replaced by another presenter

Instead, show regular Ben Thompson had stepped in to co-host to give viewers a rundown of the latest headlines. The 49 year old presenter of BBC Breakfast was diagnosed in 2022 with adenomyosis, a condition characterised by the lining of the uterus invading the womb's muscle. This can lead to pelvic pain and heavy bleeding during menstrual cycles among other symptoms, reports the Daily Star.
