BBC boss breaks silence after shocking scandals including Jermaine Jenas, Huw Edwards and Strictly Come Dancing
BBC Director General Tim Davie has broken his silence after the corporation was hit with a series of scandals over the past few weeks involving some of its biggest names
Recently hammered by multiple controversies including Huw Edwards's legal issues and The One Show's Jermaine Jenas's sacking due to inappropriate conduct, not to mention the chaos surrounding Strictly Come Dancing, Tim has acknowledged the turbulent times in an all-staff memo. This comes in the wake of the broadcaster's decision last week to terminate the contract of former One Show host and Match of The Day pundit Jermaine Jenas, 41, after allegations surfaced of inappropriate messages sent to two female colleagues. Damning video evidence was discovered as part of a broader investigation initiated by former contestant, actress Amanda Abbington, who alleges she was "bullied and bruised" by pro dancer Giovanni Pernice.
