BBC apologises after weather forecast of hurricane winds in UK - and 404C temperatures
The BBC has apologised after a weather blunder saw it accidentally forecast hurricane winds and temperatures hot enough to melt lead across the UK.

King’s tweet was accompanied by a screenshot from the BBC Weather app that showed Nottingham, which is currently expecting much more habitable nightly temperatures of 3°C, was set to experience these extreme conditions. In the meantime, they shared Thursday’s actual weather forecast, predicting colder, clearer air moving in, rain and drizzle in the south, and blustery showers near the east coast - all far more typical conditions for October in the UK, and certainly less catastrophic.
