Bargain Hunt team and experts in hysterics as auction bidders unexpectedly 'go mad' over £15 item

Two Bargain Hunt contestants where left in hysterics when one of their items made an unexpected profit at auction during Monday's episode.

After being convinced to take a gamble by expert John Cameron an ornate inkwell shaped like a stove, buying it for £40, it sold for £30 at auction, meaning they made a £10 loss. Roo's stunning buy came shortly after the two women had suffered a terrible start in a tense battle with the blue team earlier on in the episode. Although Roo was fairly confident the item would fetch for anywhere between £55 and £60, Bargain Hunt host Eric Knowles thought she was being too optimistic, quipping that the vase wouldn't sell for more than £25.
