Bargain Hunt star dramatically quit after suspension amid ‘bullying’ claims
Bargain Hunt fans were shocked when Tim Wonnacott made a sudden exit from the BBC series in 2015 - but what happened, and what has the TV star been working on since then?
A BBC spokesperson later confirmed that Tim was not working on any new episodes of Bargain Hunt at that time, but did not directly comment on the allegations - and by November the same year, his exit from the series was officially announced. Tim was brought in as a replacement for previous Bargain Hunt host David Dickinson in 2003 and was originally only signed up for 30 episodes, but stuck around for much longer when it became clear he was a hit with viewers. Since leaving Bargain Hunt, Tim's career has been much quieter - as he had promised fans in 2015, he did stay with Antiques Road Trip, but is off camera with viewers hearing his voice as the show's narrator.
