Bargain Hunt fans spot 'cheating' on BBC hit as show ends in chaos

An episode of Bargain Hunt this week saw not just a staggering loss but questions over whether one of the items was what the team claimed...

Bargain Hunt is not known for making millionaires of its players - but even host Charlie Ross seemed surprised by the scale of the loss racked up by one team this week. Jean and Emma, a mother and daughter-in-law pairing, racked up a massive bill having blown £200 on a Buddha statue that barely fetched a quarter of what they paid for it. However, in the end it was the statue that lost the day - despite auctioneer James putting his best efforts into getting it sold, with one viewer summing up the episode, which saw both teams lose money.
