Banijay Iberia Sports Launches in Spain with Long-Time TV, Radio Personality Gonzalo Miró Heading the New Outfit (EXCLUSIVE)
Banijay is doubling down on Spanish sports after partnering to launch LaLiga studios earlier this year and establishing Banijay Sports in 2023.
Unveiled at Mipcom on Monday, the new group will develop and produce original sports-related content, including “sportainment, documentary and digital,” the company outlined. After getting a taste for the trade, he studied filmmaking in New York before returning to Spain and scoring a role as a contributing presenter on “Las mañanas de Cuatro.” In the years since, he’s appeared on a wide range of Spanish radio and TV programs, including Deportes COPE, Radio Marca, “La Roca,” “Liarla Pardo,” “Más vale tarde,” “Espeko Público” and “Celebrity Master Chef.” Of his appointment, Miró said: “It is an honor to be part of Banijay Iberia, a company responsible for great audiovisual successes and at the forefront of innovation and creativity.
