In tandem with the song, a new mini documentary tracks the creation of “Forever Yours” through footage of the artist born Tim Bergling in the studio in Malibu, Calif., in 2016. The second half of the mini-doc features footage of Avicii’s much-chronicled 2016 trip to Monument Valley, Ariz., where work on songs including “Forever Yours” continued through live performances and playbacks in the famous desert landscape. A previous version of “Forever Yours” by Kygo was released in 2020 as part of a tribute to Avicii, who died by suicide in April of 2018.
