Australian tennis great and former Seven commentator John Alexander finally sells his country retreat after $3.5m price drop
A sprawling country estate owned by Australian tennis ace John Alexander has finally gone under the hammer for over $7.5 million.
Known as Iona Park, the property is situated amongst lush farmland 135kms from Sydney and boasts two clay tennis courts, 14 stables, and an arena and a covered round yard used for horse training. Beginning his career on the court in the 1960s, he rose to fame as a tennis champ in the 1970s and Alexander won the doubles at the Australian Open three times. Well-known to sports fans, the tennis great became a TV celebrity as a commentator for Channel Seven and called the Australian Open 23 times for the network from 1986.
