Australian rock legends Midnight Oil to launch career retrospective documentary The Hardest Line at Sydney Film Festival

Australian rock legends Midnight Oil are set to star in a new film that looks back at their astonishing 45-year-long career.

After Peter Garrett, 71, joined the outfit in 1976 as singer and frontman they became a pub rock favourite and were famed for their loud, raucous sound and ferocious stage act. The two-hour documentary called Midnight Oil: The Hardest Line will open the Sydney Film Festival in June, with a cinema release to follow later in the year. The out door lunch time gig was staged in front of the Exxon building to protest the environmental catastrophe following a super tanker disaster the previous year.
