Austin Butler Reacts to Rumors About Starring in the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ Franchise

During a new interview, Austin pointed out that joining the franchise would be ‘hard’ because of ‘what Johnny [Depp] did with’ it.

“I loved Pirates of the Caribbean,” the Dune: Part Two star told Entertainment Tonight in an interview published on Monday, June 10. During a separate interview at one of the premieres for his latest film, The Bikeriders, Austin expressed his hesitation in joining such an iconic franchise. The last time Disney fans saw Johnny, 61, in his Captain Jack Sparrow attire was in 2017’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
