Aussie pop star Kate Ceberano pays heartfelt tribute to her late co-star and legendary US actor and songwriter Kris Kristofferson: 'He was an absolute sweetheart'

Australian pop princess Kate Ceberano has shared a heartfelt tribute to her one-time big screen co-star Kris Kristofferson.

Among his numerous acting achievements, Kris played the role of troubled rocker John Norman Howard in the 1976 film A Star Is Born remake opposite Barbra Streisand. His musical career began in the late 1960s, as the Brownsville, Texas native wrote such classics standards as Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down, Help Me Make it Through the Night, For the Good Times and Me and Bobby McGee. With his long hair and bell-bottomed slacks and counterculture songs influenced by Bob Dylan, he represented a new breed of country songwriters along with such peers as Willie Nelson, John Prine and Tom T. Hall.
