Aussie Pirates of the Caribbean actor reveals Johnny Depp disappeared from set amid Amber Heard legal woes: 'I was sitting around for 12-and-a-half hours'
Australian actor Brenton Thwaites has revealed what it was like to work with Johnny Depp as the A-lister's relationship with Amber Heard disintegrated.
Thwaites told News Corp that despite all of the drama surrounding the production, at the time, he was completely unaware of the volatile nature of Depp's relationship with Heard. In June 2022, Depp was awarded $10.35million in a verdict delivered after his legal team successfully argued that Heard's Washington Post op-ed, in which she accused her ex-husband of domestic abuse, was defamatory. The former lovebirds met on the set of The Rum Diary back in 2011, married four years later - but split in May 2016 amid a slew of shuddering domestic violence allegations and tabloid headlines.
