Athena's iconic cheeky tennis girl unrecognisable showing face for first time - 47 years since era-defining poster


Retail chain Athena sold millions of copies of the iconic poster showing a female tennis player lifting up her skirt, but it was years until the woman unveiled her identity

On why she'd never unveiled her identity until that point, Fiona told MailOnline: "I’ve never gone out of my way to court attention, and have declined being photographed publicly since then, because I am quite a private person." Meanwhile, photographer Martin, who passed away in 2010, earned an estimated £250,000 in royalty payments as he retained the copyrights when he Sold the image rights to Athena.
