The confirmation came around the same time that the “Foolish” singer revealed that she’d given birth with a post on Instagram, showing off her postpartum body in a mirror selfie. “I think we both were pretty much doing what we do, but sometimes being separate you understand one another more,” Nelly explained of their relationship in an interview with Love and Hip Hop ‘s Rasheeda and Kirk Frost last year. After Nelly’s sister, Jackie Donahue, died of leukemia in March 2005, the musician adopted her kids, Shawn and Sydney Thomas.
