ASAP Rocky was acquitted with Rihanna by his side, and they both wore relaxed tailoring
When the “L$D” rapper was found not guilty of assault, the couple celebrated in a modern take on power suiting that seemed to suggest a literal as well as sartorial collective sigh of relief, as reflected in their decidedly relaxed approach to traditional tailoring. Late last month, courtroom illustrator Mona Shafer Edwards drew images of Rihanna in a white ensemble, which dominated headlines, so much that the AP reported her glam appearance even “[outshined] key testimony.” When the final verdict came on Tuesday, the courtroom was packed with fans of the hip-hop performer as well as Rihanna, who all smiled as Rocky leaped from the defense table into her arms, where she sat in the gallery alongside his mother and sister, before embracing his lawyer, Joe Tacopina, and telling jurors: “Thank y’all for saving my life.”
