As Grammy Voting Begins, the Recording Academy Has Added More Than 3,000 Female Voters in Five Years

As Grammy voting begins, the Recording Academy has added more than 3,000 female members in five years, and its diversity is growing rapidly.

The milestone comes less than five years after the Recording Academy set the goal of increasing representation among women voting members. In total, the Academy has added thousands of new members, and now 66% of the current Grammys electorate has joined in the past five years. But the new membership is more diverse, with 51% men and 39% women; and 36% white or Caucasian, 26% Black or African-American, 14% Hispanic or Latin and 11% Asian or Pacific Islander.
