Armin van Buuren on Remixing a Bon Jovi Classic: ‘He’s Not Enthusiastic About Remixes, But He Got My Draft & Said ‘This Is Insane”
Dutch titan Armin van Buuren releases the official "Keep the Faith" edit that he and Jon Bon Jovi debuted at Ultra Music Festival last March.
There are many things one is certain to see and hear a dance music mega-festival: fireworks, kandi bracelets, trance, house, bass, techno, wild outfits and the wide expanses of skin they reveal. He’d made his first ever trip to Ultra to help the Dutch trance legend debut his remix of Bon Jovi’s classic “Keep The Faith,” the title track and lead single from the band’s 1992 album, which was the group’s fifth studio LP. Bon Jovi fans will understand why van Buuren’s edit worked so well, with the original six-minute anthem possessing the same sort of simmer, slow build/big-ass release structure that defines so many dance music hits.
