Wicked, directed by Jon M. Chu, follows the story of Elphaba (played by fellow Oscar nominee Cynthia Erivo), a young woman misunderstood because of her unusual green skin and tremendous ability of magic power. A lot of people say I manifested it, but my mom taught me at a very young age that that’s only a tiny piece of the puzzle, and that gifts like this have to be earned.
