Ariana Grande claps back at trolls over 'voice change' criticism: 'When it's a man, it's acclaimed'

In June this year, Ariana, 31, shocked fans during an appearance on Penn Badgley's podcast, Podcrushed, where she appeared to speak in two distinctly different voices during the same interview.

Pop star Ariana Grande has addressed the ongoing criticism surrounding her 'changing voice' and has suggested she wouldn't have received such backlash if she was a man. 'I intentionally change my vocal placement (high / low) often depending on how much singing I'm doing,' she continued, adding an emoji with tears streaming down its face. Back in March, while onstage at the 2024 Academy Awards with her Wicked costar, Cynthia Erivo, Ariana surprised her fans and viewers with her higher-pitched voice, which appeared to be similar to the one she uses when playing Glinda.
