Ramsey started off by reading the teleprompter, saying that the songs nominated in the category were “delivered by some of the most famous voices in the music industry.” Ramos then named Billie Eilish, Lenny Kravitz, and Dua Lipa as part of that batch. The joke that didn’t sit well with many people was when Ramsey read the line that lumped DeBose as a batch of “actors who also think that they are singers,” which also included Jack Black and Ryan Gosling. DeBose won an Academy Award for her role as Anita in Steven Spielberg’s 2021 musical film adaptation of West Side Story.
