Argentine Lynchian Horror ‘The Dollmaker’ Acquired by Jinga Films Ahead of Cannes (EXCLUSIVE)

Jinga Films acquires rights to José María Cicala's 'The Dollmaker,' a psychological horror set in Argentina, for global sales at Cannes.

Negotiations are currently underway for distribution in the US, UK, and Australia, with Jinga planning to close additional deals during the Marché du Film at Cannes, where genre titles are sure to be among the hottest commodities for global buyers. With its David Lynch-esque atmosphere and a blend of rural noir and psychological dread, the film proposes an exploration of the thin line between innocence and madness. This marks Cicala’s fourth feature following “Sola,” “The Shadow of the Cat” (starring Danny Trejo) and “Lennons.” His production company, Shock House Films, is known for its meticulous visual style and passion for genre cinema.
